Twelve Doctoral Scholarships

Leuphana University of Lüneburg, foundation under public law, fosters the development of the junior scientific staff. Therefore the university offers twelve doctoral scholarship in the research group “PoST – Processes of Sustainability Transformation” at the faculty of Sustainability, starting October 1, 2017.

The invitation to apply for the scholarships is targeted at extraordinarily qualified young academics working in sustainability science. The scholarships will first be awarded for one year and will be extended upon request, adding up to a maximum of three years. Periods with alternative financial support prior to the scholarship will be taken into account. No scholarship may be awarded to candidates who have already earned a doctoral degree.

The scholarship is worth € 1,400 monthly (plus child benefit, if appropriate).

In addition, the scholarship entails enrolling in the doctoral programme at Leuphana University of Lüneburg as well as continuous and active participation in the programme of study. The application for the doctoral programme has to be submitted after being accepted as a scholarship holder. Admission to and enrollment in the doctoral programme have to be finalized at the beginning of the scholarship term at the latest. The prospective scholarship holder will be expected to have his or her place of residence in Lüneburg.

Aaron Redman has worked on extensively on Sustainability in Higher Education at Arizona State University, the National Autonomous University of Mexico and now as part of the Educating Future Change Agents project at Leuphana University and ASU. He is working on his PhD from the School of Sustainability at ASU and his research interests include educating for Sustainability, behavior change, and Sustainability in low-income contexts.
